EXPANDING THE SPHERE OF ART

About Artmosphere

The Artmosphere is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding the sphere of art through education, research, and community engagement. Founded in 2023, in loving memory of Wayne Thiebaud, Artmosphere aims to leverage the arts to foster creativity, cultural awareness, and social justice. ARTicles, Artmosphere’s educational resource initiative, delivers curated art learning kits consisting of lesson plans and materials centered on contemporary California and Bay Area artists.

  • We publish critical, interdisciplinary analyses regarding the future and depth of the arts.

  • Artmosphere serves as a platform for rich, inquisitive, and critical dialogue on key issues facing our world—through the lens of art.

Letter From the Founder

Dear Colleagues, Friends, Partners,

The Artmosphere (‘Artmosphere’) was founded in loving memory of my late grandfather, Wayne Thiebaud. Wayne's monumental contributions to the arts have touched many, including myself. Exploring museums and painting alongside my grandfather were cherished moments from my childhood. I am committed to continuing his legacy and extending the opportunity of arts education to all students.

Artmosphere aims to cultivate a diverse community where the arts act as a catalyst for social justice, mutual understanding, and dialogue. As a newly-founded organization, we are uniquely and strategically positioned to fulfill this philanthropic mission.

Together, let us unite to leverage the arts for positive social change. We invite you to stay engaged with Artmosphere through our newsletter, events, and publications.

Sincerely,

Colette Thiebaud
